However, Edmundo surprised everyone by stating that Flamengo should play for Paolo Guerrero, as he is their best weapon.
"I am a critic of Paolo Guerrero, but the ball must reach him. The attacker who misses several goals deserves criticism. But if the forward does not touch the ball, the criticism is not only for him, it is for the team," the coach said.
The former World Cup player assured that depending on Paolo Guerrero is not a bad idea, since besides being a goal scorer, he knows how to leave the area and play with his teammates.
"I don't think that style of play is bad, but Flamengo needs to find a balance to play well. Create goal opportunities to define. Flamengo is a good team organically, it works, but it has few goal scorers. The responsibility is limited to Guerrero. Maybe that's why so many crosses," he said.
