Belgium dominates Estonia with a 0-2 victory

The Belgium national team secured their position at the top of Group H with a 0-2 victory over Estonia on Friday. The Spanish coach Roberto Martinez's team did just enough to achieve a lackluster win.

This attitude contrasted with their previous match in November, when Belgium defeated Estonia 8-1 in Brussels.

However, despite possessing great talent, Belgium seemed to have fallen into melancholy with the absence of their star player, Chelsea's attacking midfielder Eden Hazard, who will be out for three months due to an ankle fracture.

This lack of enthusiasm didn't stop Roberto Martinez's team from completely dominating their opponent, who appeared content to avoid another heavy defeat like the one suffered in their visit to the capital of Belgium.

Nevertheless, the difference between the two teams is so great that Belgium managed to distance themselves on the scoreboard despite the slow and gloomy pace of the match.

However, the "Red Devils" had to wait for a mistake by local goalkeeper Mikhel Aksalu, who failed to catch a simple cross from Kevin de Bruyne on the left, allowing Napoli's player Dries Mertens to score the 0-1 goal.

This goal ended any possibility of a surprise from the Estonian team, who were condemned to defeat after midfielder Artjom Dmitrijev was sent off with a straight red card at 44 minutes for a nasty and unnecessary tackle on Marouane Fellaini.

With one player more on the field, Belgium seemed to accelerate their game in the second half, but they struggled to create clear goal-scoring opportunities against an Estonia team that defended their area without disguise.

And when they did find chances, the Belgian team encountered local goalkeeper Aksalu, who redeemed himself with two superb saves from shots by Fellaini at 64 minutes and De Bruyne at 69 minutes.

Aksalu couldn't do anything to prevent Nacer Chadli from scoring the definitive 0-2 goal at minute 86, allowing Belgium to solidify their first-place position in Group H with a four-point advantage over Greece in second place, and a five-point advantage over Bosnia in third place.
