Demetrious Johnson is one of the most fearsome fighters in the UFC, as he has defended his flyweight title (57 kilos) ten consecutive times. However, 'Mighty Mouse' believes that he is not receiving the treatment he deserves from the company executives.
Currently, the UFC's plan is for Demetrious Johnson to face TJ Dillashaw in the next defense of his belt. And in response to the champion's refusal, a heated discussion with matchmaker Mick Maynard began, which even ended with a threat to "close the flyweight division".
"I replied: 'close the damn division then'. Because if someone is willing to do that, they simply show the little interest they have in working with me. I have never failed to make weight, I have always shown up on time, I have done all my interviews, I traveled to Australia to be a coach twice," Johnson told The MMA Hour.
"I respect them for being honest and direct, but don't expect me to take the fight against TJ because of this threat. That's not how it works," concluded Demetrious Johnson, whose main goal is to surpass Anderson Silva's record of consecutive title defenses (10) in the middleweight division (84 kilos).
