Yair Rodríguez visits Robert García Boxing Academy
Yair Rodríguez visited the Robert García Boxing Academy in California today, where he shared training sessions with Olympic medalist in Rio de Janeiro, Misael Rodríguez.
Misael is a professional boxer and has participated in Pan American and Central American games. He also won a bronze medal in the 75-kilogram category at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Both are from Chihuahua and have known each other since childhood, and their families' closeness and the coincidence of their last name make them consider each other as "cousins."
'Pantera' comes from his first defeat in UFC against veteran Frankie Edgar at UFC 211. Despite an injury in his left eye, he returned to the gym as soon as possible, so he visited Misael, who trains at the gym of former international boxing champion Robert García, to exchange knowledge and techniques.
In the photo that Yair posted on social media, Jair Pérez Ruvalcaba is also seen. Jair is the younger brother of Erik 'Goyito' Pérez, a bantamweight with a UFC record of 7-2.
