Disappointing first season for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City

Despite designing a team to compete for all the titles at stake, the citizen squad had to settle for a tense qualification for the next edition of the Champions League. Thus, it is time to regroup for the upcoming season and make up for lost time. The plans are nothing other than taking a step forward with flashy signings, and no expenses will be spared to achieve it.

Manchester City sets eyes on Portugal

A clear example of this is the information that we can read today in Record, according to which Manchester City is willing to invest a considerable amount of money in two players who currently wear the colors of Sporting de Portugal.

Gelson Martins

The first one is promising forward Gelson Martins, a 22-year-old player who mainly operates as a right winger and has played a total of 43 official matches this season, scoring 7 goals and providing 13 assists.

William Carvalho

The second player to follow is midfielder William Carvalho (25), a key piece for both the Lisbon squad (43 matches this season) and the Portuguese national team.

In order to achieve their goal, and according to the aforementioned source, the sky blues are willing to offer a staggering €70 million. However, the Portuguese side is clear about the departure of their two stars and value them at least €90 million. There is no doubt that this will be one of the major stories to follow during the next transfer window.
