Pumas announces the departure of two of their last legends

Out of nowhere, in a last-minute press conference, Pumas announced the departure of two of their last legends: Darío Verón and Alejandro Palacios. Sergio Egea, the club's sports vice president, stated that "they have completed their cycle and the intention is to give La Cantera [the club's youth academy] a chance," commented the executive.

After an uncertain season, the one with the lowest point production since the Apertura 2013, Verón and Palacios bid farewell in silence: "We discussed it with both of them, we thought they could retire at Pumas, but apparently they want to continue their career and we will give them all the facilities for that to happen."

Regarding the Clausura 2017 and the results obtained by the institution, Egea said he felt embarrassed by the poor points harvest: "I feel sorry for the fans, it wasn't what we expected," he said at the press conference.

Alejandro Palacios said goodbye to the fans with a video on Twitter.
