Boston Celtics Crushed Chicago Bulls, Advances to Semifinals
Avery Bradley scored 23 points as the red-hot Boston Celtics crushed the Chicago Bulls 105-83 in the sixth game of the first round playoffs series.
The Celtics, the top seed in the East, simply annihilated Chicago from a distance to end a series that was more challenging than anticipated and advance to the postseason for the first time since 2012. Boston bounced back after losing the first two games of the series at home and will face Washington in the conference semifinals starting on Sunday.
Bradley fell one point short of his personal playoffs record, which he set in the previous game. He made three three-pointers and the Celtics finished with 16 makes out of 39 attempts from beyond the arc.
Gerald Green contributed 16 points and Isaiah Thomas had 12 before flying to Washington for his sister Chyna's funeral, which will take place on Saturday. Her sudden death, a day before the series started, was a devastating blow for the Celtics. But Boston rallied around their star and managed to recover when it seemed like the series was slipping away.
For the Celtics, Dominican player Al Horford finished with 12 points, seven assists, and six rebounds in 27 minutes.
For the Bulls, Brazilian player Cristiano Felicio had one rebound in five minutes.
