Raiders Sign Two-Year Contract with Running Back Marshawn Lynch
The Oakland Raiders have agreed to a two-year contract with running back Marshawn Lynch, who retired from the NFL before last season, according to a person with knowledge of the deal.
The person said that the parties have agreed to the contract terms, which are contingent on Lynch passing a medical examination on Wednesday. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the contract had not been signed.
The NFL Network first reported the agreement.
Once Lynch passes the medical exams, the Raiders will need to acquire his rights in a trade with Seattle. It is expected that the transaction will be a mere formality, as the Seahawks would not want to pay Lynch the nine million dollars they would owe him upon his retirement.
