Mexico City Red Devils defeated the Quintana Roo Tigers 10-4 in the Civil War at Fray Nano, the first game of the series in the 2017 Mexican Baseball League.

Scarlet offense explodes!

With a great performance by Ramón Urías, the Mexico Red Devils (7-6) defeated the Quintana Roo Tigers (5-8) with a final score of 10 runs to 4 in the first game of the Mexican Baseball League Classic.

Daniel Flores (1-1, 4.85) had a great outing and earned his first win of the season with six innings of work. He gave up five hits, four runs, five walks, and struck out two. The loser was the starting pitcher Claudio Márquez (0-1), who pitched three and a third innings, allowing five runs - four earned - on six hits, with no other statistics to mention.

The visitors scored the first run in the first inning, but a home run by Ramón Urías (4) tied the game at one run apiece in the bottom of the same inning.

In the second inning, the Tigers put together a three-run rally, but Mexico never gave up and scored a run in the second and third innings to make it a 4-3 game, still in favor of the Tigers.

In the fourth inning, back-to-back home runs by José Carlos Ureña (2) and Ricardo Valenzuela (1), along with an RBI from the hot-hitting Ramón Urías, turned the game around and gave Mexico a 6-4 lead.

In the fifth and seventh innings, José Augusto Figueroa drove in all the runs, with a single and a two-run home run (1), extending the Scarlet Gang's lead. Finally, in the eighth inning, Jorge Vázquez also hit a home run, giving the Miguel Ojeda-led team a final score of 10 runs to 4.

The second game of this series will be played on Saturday at 4:00 pm at Fray Nano Stadium. Manager Miguel Ojeda announced Juan Pablo Oramas (0-0, 6.75) as his probable starting pitcher, while Pablo Ortega (2-0, 2.03) will take the mound for Quintana Roo.
